Established in 1992, with its farm in Teresa, Rizal by Tony Alleje and Jacqueline Haessig Alleje, Rizal Dairy Farms is a pioneer in small scale dairy production in the Philippines. Inspired and guided by farm-stead production of organic dairy producers in Switzerland, Rizal Dairy Farms’ products were developed following Swiss standards and recipes to achieve high quality dairy products.
Since 1994 Rizal Dairy Farms is supplying the hotel and restaurant industry in Metro Manila with its first class products and is retailing to consumers through participation at weekend markets and its own retail outlets.
From its early days on, Rizal Dairy Farms produced organically grown vegetables with seeds imported from Switzerland to supply the demand of hotels and restaurants at a time wherein green leafy lettuce was not well known yet. Today the organic vegetable production is under the management of its sister company, Organic Farming – Production, Training, Consultancy, Inc.
Rizal Dairy has actively participated in the promotion and adoption of organic agriculture in the Philippines. A founding member of OPTA (Organic Producers Trade Association), OCCCP (Organic Certification Center of the Philippines) and through many other roles, functions and activities, Rizal Dairy Farms has been a part of the natural and organic industry from the beginnings.
Jacqueline Haessig Alleje has been elected to the World Board of IFOAM (International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movement) to contribute to the leadership in the development of a global organic movement based on the principles of organic agriculture: ecology, health, care and fairness. She has participated as resource speaker and trainer in many national, regional and international workshops and conferences.
